12 mixed- media Kerlisha Munroe, Kerly's Artistic Nails, Trinidad and Tobago [Click here for full profile.] Nail technician Kerlisha Munroe believes you should let your nails do the talking. "It's a never ending trend that continues to complement one's overall design. Even a client with the simplest manicure can make a statement," she says. All of Munroe's statement-making designs are hand-painted, though she does love a splash of nail jewelry. The artist uses acrylic powder to create 3-D designs such as floral arrangements and cartoon characters. The inspiration behind these designs are mostly from her childhood memories, which she describes as "full of flowers and abstracts." Munroe strives to create looks that she hasn't seen on passersby. Her number one design influence? Mickey and Minnie Mouse. "They have become a signature design for my clients and referrals," says Munroe. Munroe ArTIsT spoTLIghT
