Without a doubt, this is a magazine about nail
trends. Nail trends come and go, but nail friends
hopefully last a lot longer. Coming fresh off the
International Salon and Spa Expo in Long Beach, I am
happy to say that nail friendships are in full bloom.
Highlights for me this year included getting to dine with
Lexi Martone and Danielle Costantino , meeting Nail
Hub podcast founder Elizabeth Morris , finally getting
together with Canadian nail artists Winnie Huang and
Denise Escalante , and seeing Lavette Cephus crowned
NAILS Next Top Nail Artist. A beauty tradeshow is a
fantastic place to meet up with old friends and make
new ones, because we all have an appreciation for nails
in common. In fact, it was at this tradeshow a year ago
that I met legendary nail tech Vicki Peters , who sadly
passed away before this year's event.
Whether you're a nail professional or not, I urge you
to interact with others who share your passion. Get
connected on social media, meet up in-person when you
can, and attend events that make networking possible.
These connections might not only be your saving grace
when you're stuck or have questions, but they can be the
people who end up "getting you" the most. To see pictures

Thank you to those who contribute to this magazine
who I can now call my friends, whether we've met yet or
not. I am so lucky to work with you!
