Simone Gilbert believes

This nail tech of 10
years admits that
feathers are one nail supply she
just can't live without (right up
there with glitters, pigments,
cuticle oil, and brushes). She loves
incorporating these beauties (both
natural and artifcial) into her nail
designs because no two are exactly
the same. Gilbert advises using
feathers in fantasy nail art, or even
mixed between gel layers as an
alternative to silk nail repair. Finding
objects to embed as well as fashion
trends gives Gilbert new design
ideas. Although being in Australia
means being a season behind when
it comes to most things, it can be
helpful for Gilbert to see which
trends actually do take of overseas,
so she can edit her oferings and get a
head start. Right now, the Australian
nail scene is full of almond shapes,
nail foils, crystals,
3-D art, and of
course, feathers.
