Everyday life is the inspiration behind Alexandra Barbosa of Aly's Nails.
Trees, flowers, and clothing all contribute to her designs. Barbosa is
big on challenging herself. She loves using a sewing needle and the
marbling technique. With so much of her nail art appearing in both the

accent and abstract nail sections of this issue, we asked her what she
likes best about both trends. "The boldness of colors" was her response, and we see
evidence of that in almost every one of her designs. Her attraction to vibrant color
and the happiness that arises from nail art has made her want to give back by doing
nails for others in need. After being a nail professional for 17 years
Barbosa still enjoys the smile on her clients' faces. "The feeling I get
from that is priceless." That feeling is what nail art is all about.
